Announcing the Opus Scholars and Leaders Scholarship

The Opus Scholars and Leaders Scholarship is an achievement and merit-based prize offered to students entering 10th, 11th, and 12th grades in the fall of 2025. The Opus Scholars and Leaders Scholarship continues to support high school students across the United States for the 2025-2026 academic year.

Students with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher are recognized for their academic excellence and their dedication and impact within their families, schools, or communities. Awards are offered without regard to student background or financial need.

Timeline

Application Opens: January 1, 2025

Application Deadline: January 30, 2025

Finalists Announced: March 1, 2025

Recommendation Letter Deadlines Submitted By: March 15, 2025

Decisions Notifications: April 15, 2025

Opus Scholars and Leaders Scholarship will be offered in the amount of $1,000 per scholar. Two (2) students will receive scholarships of $5000.

The 2025 application will be available from June 1, 2025, to October 1, 2025, for students in the 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grades. Applications must be completed and submitted online by our midnight EST deadline on either June 15 or October 1.

Application Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Complete two essay responses.
  • Describe a contribution you’ve made to your community. Share your experiences in community service and the impact of your contributions.
  • Be a current U.S. high school student in 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade at the time of application.
  • Reside in the U.S. (Note: U.S. citizenship or permanent residence is not required to receive the award.)
  • Have plans to pursue a degree at an accredited U.S. post-secondary institution.
  • Verify a minimum overall 3.0 GPA in high school coursework after receipt of the award
  • Offer letters of recommendation after making it to the finalist round. No letters of recommendation are requested upon initial application.

Additional Considerations:

  • We do not accept applications via fax, email, U.S. mail, or any other carrier.
  • Please contact us well in advance of the Priority and Regular Deadlines for any assistance you may need. We will not accept applications after the Regular Deadline.
  • Recommendation letters are only required of finalists. These can come from teachers, counselors, or any person who can address the student’s academic excellence and dedication to service. No letter of recommendation from a family member will be accepted.
  • Incomplete applications are not considered.
  • Applications should not include private or confidential information; contents should be shareable.
  • Applicants may not be children or grandchildren of current employees, officers, or owners of Opus College Prep companies or their subsidiaries.

  • Regular Deadline: November 15, 2025
  • Decisions Notifications: First two weeks of February 2026

The Opus Scholars and Leaders Scholarship is an achievement and merit-based prize offered to students entering 10th, 11th, and 12th grades in the fall of 2025. The Opus Scholars and Leaders Scholarship is a new scholarship offered in the 2025 academic year for all high school students entering these grades within the United States.

The Opus Scholars and Leaders Scholarship recognizes students with a minimum GPA of 3.0 who have demonstrated academic excellence and made a meaningful impact on their families, schools, or communities. Awards are granted regardless of background or financial need.

  • 25 students will be selected as semi-finalists.
  • From this group, two finalists will receive the 1st Distinction honor, and each will be awarded a $5,000 scholarship.

Application Requirements

  • Submit 2 letters of recommendation.
  • Complete 2 essay responses.
  • Be current U.S. high school students entering 10th,11th, or 12th grade in the fall.

  • Able to verify a minimum overall B/3.0 GPA in high school coursework after receipt of award

  4. No letter of recommendation from a family member will be accepted.
  5. Incomplete applications are not considered.
  6. Applications should not include private or confidential information. Application contents should be able to be shared.
  7. Applicants may not be children or grandchildren of current employees, officers, or owners of Opus College Prep companies, Company subsidiaries, or divisions.
