Sylvia
Sylvia is an accomplished college-coaching and admissions professional with over a decade of experience. Dedicated to helping students aspire, thrive, and realize their potential, Sylvia is a recognized admissions expert often consulted on admissions topics by the University Network and parenting magazines across the country.
Sylvia is a teacher by trade and training starting her career in education as an English teacher and NYC Teaching Fellow.
Having worked for Princeton University Admissions, Sylvia has served as Director of Enrollment with Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation, and Assistant Director of CUNY’s J-School. Sylvia identifies the distinctive qualities of each student and understands how to guide every student she works with toward selective admissions.

Nils
Prior to his time at Opus College Prep, Nils worked in three different undergraduate admissions offices including 8 years at New York University, where he served as Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions. While at NYU, he was responsible for reviewing thousands of applications, establishing selection criteria, and recruiting students from all over the world. Before taking on the role at Opus College Prep, Nils was employed at Google where he was part of the Talent Acquisition team focused on recruiting top-tier talent from across the United States.
Nils earned his undergraduate degree in Secondary English Education from St. Ambrose University. For his graduate work, Nils earned his master’s degree at NYU’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study and his Doctoral Degree from NYU’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. Both degrees were centered on the study of higher education and issues related to educational access.
In his free time, Nils can be found playing board games with his friends, exploring New York City, and entertaining his seven nieces and nephews.

Tony
Tony holds a BA in Philosophy and Film Studies from Amherst College, where he graduated with honors and won the Film Studies Award, and an MFA in Nonfiction Writing from the University of Iowa, where he designed and taught courses in literature and creative writing and won the Carl Klaus Teaching Award. He has served as an editorial assistant for The Iowa Review and an assistant editor for the London Review of Books. His college essay students have been accepted to Harvard, Yale, Stanford, MIT, Penn, Cornell, Johns Hopkins, Wash U, Duke, Michigan, Georgetown, NYU, Rice, and UCLA, among others — many with significant scholarships. Tony is a regular contributor to The Surfer’s Journal, a literary magazine about the art and culture of surfing, a subject about which he is currently writing a book. He is represented by Creative Artists Agency.

Andrew
Andrew began his decades-long admissions career as an NCAA Compliance Officer at Georgetown University. In this capacity, he assisted recruited student-athletes navigate both the NCAA initial eligibility requirements and the university admissions process. An offer from University of Southern California to serve as an undergraduate admissions officer with USC Marshall School of Business, led him to the west coast. Since then, Andrew has acquired first-hand knowledge of competitive college admissions through his experience at both USC and Pepperdine University. Andrew uses his wide range of experience to help students build a well-tailored college list and shares strategies regarding how to stand out in the highly competitive world of college admissions and college athletics recruitment.

Clarice
Clarice graduated from Yale University with a BS in Psychology. Upon graduation, she joined Yale University Admissions where she recruited students from all over the country to Yale. Clarice is a current Yale College Adviser for Trumbull College and a student in Penn State’s Master of Education in Higher Education program. Clarice is a full-time admissions coach today and loves supporting students one-on-one through their college admissions journey. Clarice is a wonderful, caring guide students enjoy working with.
