Announcing the Opus Scholars and Leaders Scholarship

  • Decisions Notifications: First two weeks of February 2024
  • The 2024 application will be available June 1,2023-October 1,2023, for students entering 10th, 11th, and 12th grades in the fall. Applications must be completed and submitted online by our deadline of Midnight EST on either June 15 or October 1. 


The Opus Scholars and Leaders Scholarship is an achievement and merit-based prize offered to high school students. The Opus Scholars and Leaders Scholarship is a new scholarship offered in the 2023-2024 academic year for all high school students entering these grades within the United States.

Students with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher are awarded for academic excellence and their dedication and impact within their families, schools, or communities. Awards are offered without regard to student background or financial need.

25 students are selected as semi-finalists. 2 finalists will be selected for 1st Distinction to win $5000. 

The designations will now be awarded as follows: 

1. Opus Scholars and Leaders Scholarship, Finalist, 1st Distinction, 2 scholarships $5000

2. Opus Scholars and Leaders Scholarship, Superior Standing, 5 scholarships $1000

Application Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Submit 2 letters of recommendation. Letters of recommendation must be emailed to
  • Complete 2 long essay responses and 2 short answer questions.
  • Be current U.S. high school students entering 10th,11th, or 12th grade in the fall.
  • Reside in the U.S. Note: US Citizenship or permanent residence is not required to receive the award. 
  • Haves plans to pursue a degree at an accredited U.S. post-secondary institution
  • Able to verify a minimum overall B/3.0 GPA in high school coursework after receipt of award

Additional Considerations:

  1. We do not accept applications via fax, email, U.S. mail, or any other carrier.
  2. Please contact us far in advance of the Priority and Regular Deadline for assistance you need. We will not accept applications after the Regular Deadline.
  3. Applications must include a letter from 2 recommenders. Recommendation letters should be emailed to
  4. Recommendation letters should come from teachers, counselors or any person who can address the student’s academic excellence and dedication to service.
  5. No letter of recommendation from a family member will be accepted. 
  6. Incomplete applications are not considered.
  7. Applications should not include private or confidential information. Application contents should be able to be shared.
  8. Applicants may not be children or grandchildren of current employees, officers, or owners of Opus College Prep companies, Company subsidiaries or divisions.
